At The Little Owl Spa, we believe exceptional skincare isn't about fluff, gimmicks, or the latest trends. It's about truly understanding the science of the skin and respecting its delicate balance. With over 24 years of experience in skincare and product formulation, our philosophy is simple: Less is best. Repair rather than strip. Restore rather than remove. Nourish rather than overwhelm.

Every product we choose is carefully evaluated for its individual formulation, not its brand name or popularity. We prioritize fragrance-free, barrier-supportive skincare, avoiding essential oils, drying alcohols, unnecessarily harsh preservatives, and other common irritants. Even our chemical peels are thoughtfully selected to minimize unnecessary irritation. We intentionally avoid facial steaming, which can aggravate sensitive, rosacea-prone, or breakout-prone skin. Our treatments are designed with even the most delicate skin in mind, including those struggling with acne, rosacea, and compromised skin barriers.

We don't believe beautiful skin comes from aggressively breaking it down. We believe in helping it become healthier, stronger, and more resilient. Through gentle, effective ingredients, thoughtful treatments, and genuine care, we nurture the skin rather than fight against it.

Why We Don't Use Steam

At The Little Owl Spa, we intentionally do not use steam during our facials. While steaming is a traditional part of many facial treatments, we believe in protecting the skin's delicate barrier rather than exposing it to unnecessary heat. Steam increases skin temperature, encourages sweating, and causes blood vessels to dilate, which can aggravate redness, rosacea, inflammation, and sensitive or acne-prone skin. Excessive heat may also contribute to moisture loss and barrier disruption, leaving the skin more vulnerable to irritation. For clients prone to facial flushing or visible capillaries, heat can be particularly problematic.

Our philosophy is simple: We don't need to heat, strip, or stress the skin to cleanse it effectively. We favor gentle, science-based methods that preserve the skin's natural protective barrier while supporting its long-term health.

Cleanse Facial (best for sensitive and normal skin)

Experience a comprehensive deep cleansing facial featuring exfoliation, extractions, and a calming mask. This treatment also includes a gentle massage of the face, neck, shoulders, arms, and hands. It concludes with the application of an antioxidant serum or moisturizer and appropriate SPF protection. We suggest this facial for new clients to help us better understand your skin's unique needs.

Anti-aging Facial

The anti-aging facial features a glycolic exfoliant specifically designed to address fine lines, dehydration, and hyperpigmentation. Nourishing facial oils are massaged into the skin to enhance moisture levels, combat free-radical damage, and improve overall complexion. This treatment is ideal for clients with clear skin looking to prevent aging or for those already noticing its signs. Please note that higher percentage chemical peels are not included and are available as add-ons.

Clear Facial (Acne and Breakouts)

This facial is designed to address acne conditions ranging from mild to severe. We prioritize effective acne treatment with distinct products and tailored protocols to target various levels of acne. The session typically features a gentle salicylic exfoliation, increased extractions, and a comprehensive client intake process to better assess individual needs.
